- Not to be confused with Sweet Children (song).
Sweet Children is the third EP from Green Day.
Background[]
According to the album insert, Sweet Children was recorded around July 4, 1990 while the band was on tour in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US. It was recorded in only a few hours at Six Feet Under shortly after their show at Varsity Theater in Dinkytown. This would end up becoming the last album John Kiffmeyer would be featured on, as he left the band to attend college shortly after its release.
Release[]
Sweet Children was released through Skene! Records on 7" vinyl sometime in August 1990. The album received four different pressings from 1990 through 1992, each with a slightly different front and back cover before going out of print. However, since March 24, 2009 it has been back in print as a free bonus promotional release with orders of 39/Smooth through Reprise Records. On September 15, 2009, it was re-released as part of the Ultimate Collectors Box set.
All four tracks were reissued as bonus tracks on the CD version of Kerplunk! in 1992.

Trivia[]
- The back cover on the first pressing humorously says track 4 was "originally by The Who (obviously)".
- On the second and third pressings of this album, side one was given the name "Cup-O-Mud" while side two was known as "Ashtray".
- The fourth pressing has a note on the front about Skene! Records running out of covers for this album, which is why the cover image keeps changing after every new pressing.
